1. Information We Collect
When you register with MajhiGadi, we collect your phone number (encrypted at rest) and device information. Vehicle details you enter (registration number, make, model) are stored to enable the tag-to-vehicle mapping. We do not collect your name unless you voluntarily provide it in your profile.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your phone number is used solely to send you OTP authentication codes and alert notifications. It is never shared with, displayed to, or accessible by anyone who scans your QR tag. Vehicle details are shown on the public tag page to help visitors identify the correct vehicle.
3. Data Shared with Third Parties
We use Expo Push Notification services to deliver alerts to your device. Your Expo push token is stored securely and used only to send notifications from our server. We use an SMS gateway to send OTP codes; your phone number is shared with this provider only for that purpose. We do not sell or trade your personal data.
4. Visitor Data
When a visitor scans your QR tag and sends an alert, we log the message type, an anonymised hash of their IP address, and optionally their GPS coordinates if they choose to share. This information is visible to you (the vehicle owner) in your alerts inbox. Visitor phone numbers are never collected.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Alert and inbox records are retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at [email protected].
6. Security
Phone numbers are encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry best practices for data security. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
